The ruptured main sewage line in Waterloo and Light Streets is the source of discomfort to the residents in the area.
Guyana Water Inc. (G.W.I) in a report stated that ‘a truck belonging to a private company, damaged the G.W.I sewer main at the junction of Waterloo and Quamina Streets at approximately 11:00 hours yesterday,’ which resulted in a significant sewage spill.
A similar incident has occurred at the junction of Light and Second Streets, Alberttown where repairs are being conducted on a damaged sewage line.
In that community, too, sewage is flooding a number of residences.
G.W.I is urging commuters to exercise extreme caution at the junction of the damaged sewage mains.
