St. Aloysius defeated Overwinning by 27 runs when action in the New Amsterdam
Canje Zone of the 17th Annual Primary Schools Windball champions’ trophy continued recently at Welfare Centre ground, East Canje.
Batting first in the male category, St. Aloysius posted 72-2 with Kelly Amsterdam scoring 43 (6×6) and Anthony Williams 12. Overwinning managed 45-4 in reply. Johil Alphonso made 10; Williams snared 2-12.
Overwinning rebounded to beat All Saints by 12 runs in their match-up. Overwinning took first strike and scored 56-3. Devon Saywack cracked 24 and Devin Saywack 10. All Saints made 44-3 in response with Isaacs Simeon scoring 19 (3×6).
Edinburgh got the better of Saint Therese by five runs. Saint Therese managed 43-3, taking first knock. Rickford Blair stroked 18.Edinburg replied with 48-1. Achaic Henry slammed 18.
In the female division St. Therese overcame Edinburgh by eight wickets. Edinburgh batted first and scored 37-4. Shellon Sampson claimed 2-13. St. Therese replied with 38-2. Serena Cadogan made 13; Lacresha Woodruff took 2-3.
All Saints who were awarded the best dressed team prize went down to St. Aloysius by eight wickets. All Saints mustered 50-2, taking first strike. Sonel Roethoff led with 13. St. Aloysius scored 51-2 in reply. Vanessa John scored 19; Shevon La Fleur captured 2-10.
