Residents of Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, were treated to free health checks last Saturday
when established health firm, Smart Aid Pharmacy, opened its third outlet.
Available to cut the red ribbon and officially open the Lot ‘A’ Belmont business was Culture and Sports Minister Dr. Frank Anthony.
Rajiv Singh and his partner, Fazeela Baksh, own and manage the establishment with qualified pharmacists on hand. The pharmacy is expected to have an on duty doctor every Saturday.
Last Saturday’s opening ceremony encompassed a blood drive, free HIV and blood pressure testing, among other health checks. Singh said that he is pleased to have opened the pharmacy in Mahaica since his idea is to place this type of facility in areas where there is the need.
Smart Aid has two other outlets located at Barr Street Kitty and Diamond, East Bank Demerara.
