East Coast champions Melanie ‘A’ and Queen Street of Tiger Bay were scheduled to contest the final of this year’s Banks DIH-sponsored Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Futsal Competition last night, at the Demerara Park, Thirst Park.
The playoff for third place was to be Albouystown ‘B’ versus Eagles of Linden after the two teams lost to Melanie ‘A’ and Queen Street of Tiger Bay respectively.
In the first semi-final, Melanie A’ outlasted Albouystown ‘B’ in sudden death penalty shootout from the halfway line after their encounter ended 1-1, while Queen Street of Tiger Bay beat Eagles 2-0 in the other semi-final match.
