Guyana’s leading middle distance athlete Cleveland Forde yesterday received an airline ticket to Trinidad and Tobago compliments of Spads Inc. at their Thomas Street location as sponsorship for the Guyana Defense Force (GDF)
runner to participate in an athletics Meet on that Island on Sunday.
This is the third time for the year that Forde will be running in the Twin Island Republic as he is set to compete in the ‘Diego Run for Peace’ half Marathon. This is Forde’s sixth overseas trip for the year.
Forde said fellow Guyanese Kelvin Johnson and Lionel D’Andrade, who both reside in Trinidad, are expected to participate in the event and thanked the Water Filtration Systems Company for their continued support.
Director of Spads Inc. Paul Campbell said he was pleased to once again offer the talented athlete sponsorship and added that the company has sponsored Forde several times in the past and was proud of his achievements as he continues to keep Guyana’s flag flying proudly overseas.
Forde also thanked CEO of Star Party Rentals, Lennox Cush for his sponsorship and promised to put his best foot forward in Trinidad.
