The Gandhi Youth Organisation Cricket Club of Woolford Avenue was the recipient of a substantial amount of cricketing uniforms for its First Division players from BARON FOODS Ltd. The Company’s proprietor and Chief Executive Officer, Ronald Ramjattan, of St. Lucia who was recently in Guyana, handed over the thirty five (35) cricketing suits to President (Acting) of the GYO Club, Mr. Khemraj Ramjattan, popular Attorney-at-Law and Leader of the AFC.
The very prominent and award-winning Caricom company, which manufactures a variety of foods and condiments, has taken seriously its social role and corporate responsibility. It has over the years sponsored and assisted financially in sports and culture projects here in Guyana and in the OECS. He had encouraging words for the members last week Wednesday at the GYO ground where he delivered the suits, “GYO club can rest assured of further support from the Company once its shows improvements in the quality of its cricket, discipline of its players and an accountable administration of the club. Do those things a little better every day and you will be beneficiaries of an even more outstanding club.”
Treasurer of GYO, Khalil Ahmad, thanked Ronald Ramjattan for his generosity and asked his First Division Players to care for the gear.
