Young Golden Jaguar Pernel Schultz scored his first TT Pro League goal for his club Caledonia AIA in a 1-1 draw against W- Connection, recently. The 20 year-old striker kept his nerve to hold off a defender and chip over the keeper to give Caledonia the lead.
“It’s a great feeling to score my first goal in the TT Pro League. Caledonia has made a huge investment in me and I am ready to deliver the goals, stated Schultz. Pernel joined Caledonia from Fruta Conquerors in 2012 but was sent on loan to T&T Super League Club Maracas United for two seasons. However the diminutive striker was brought back into the Caledonia professional team during the January transfer window.
“We always knew Pernel had the talent, stated Caledonia Head Coach Jamaal Shabazz. “And like Trayon Bobb we took a methodical approach to his development. “He’s had two seasons of Super League action and scored some very good goals for Maracas.
“After playing so many games his confidence is up, so we brought him back with the pros and now he’s showing he can play at this level , added Shabazz.
With one more game left in the season Pernel is already looking ahead.
“ I wanna get in a good preseason and help Caledonia get back winning titles in the new season.
“My ultimate goal is to play in Europe like Trayon Bobb and Walter Moore.
“So the new season is a critical one for me to hold down my starting spot and score goals for Caledonia, ended Schultz.
