Two 16-year-old male students of Apex Academy, East Coast Demerara, were robbed yesterday, while proceeding east along Woolford Avenue, Georgetown.
According to one of the schoolboys, he and a friend were talking about an assignment when they observed two other boys, approaching them.
“They look like they were about our age. We tried not to really pay much attention to them, but then suddenly they run up to us with a chopper and tell we to empty we pockets and so,” the teenager said.
He said that the robbers took from him $2000 in cash and a BlackBerry cell phone, while they took his classmate’s Samsung Galaxy phone and a few $100 bills.
“We were almost on Vlissingen Road side, but before we could call out for help and so, them boys ran away with we stuff.”
Last evening, the lad was on his way to file a report at the Alberttown Police Station. He is confident that he would be able to recognize the thieves.
