City Hall officials are concerned about the presence of a concrete structure that is leaning
precariously in Hill Street, Lodge, and are to meet with the owner to find ways to address the issue.
An official told Kaieteur News that the matter was discussed yesterday at the Council’s statutory meeting. “We are concerned about the danger it presents and we have made a decision to meet with the owner,” the official said.
Kaieteur News understands that the building, which is still under construction, began to tilt noticeably in recent weeks. A hymac was reportedly placed against the building in a desperate attempt to prop it up.
The structure is said to be the property of the owners of the Church’s Chicken fast food franchise.
