Harriet Philadelphia, 66, of Pike Street, Kitty, Georgetown, died on Tuesday evening at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) following an accident on the intersection of JB Singh and Thomas Roads.
According to a police press release issued yesterday, the accident occurred at around 18:25hrs.
The statement explained that Philadelphia was on a motorcycle, which collided with another, being driven by 25-year-old Jason Lashley of Sixth Street, Alberttown, Georgetown.
Both motorists were rushed to the aforementioned public health institution where Philadelphia later succumbed while receiving treatment.
Police are continuing with their investigations to determine what caused the crash. Meanwhile, relatives of the woman were unreachable.
When Kaieteur News visited the woman’s residence yesterday, no one was at home.
Several telephone calls were subsequently made to the family, but the persons on the line maintained that they were not relatives and had no information on Philadelphia.
