The Guyana Badminton Association Team participating in the Suriname Annual Easter International Tournament at the Walter Amo Sports Hall in Paramaribo over the Easter weekend turned in an impressive display despite competing in higher age categories.
The Guyanese Players did well on the Final day against their older opponents by reaching the Semi-Finals and Finals especially 12 Year Old Priyanna who played in the Under-15 & 19 Events.
Players like Priyanna & Narayan had to play five Matches each on the Final Day but were able to stand up to the pressure.
After the Finals the Presentation was held with the Guyanese Players collecting a total of
11-Trophies.
Manager/Coach Gokarn Ramdhani said, “I am really proud to say that for the last seven years in a row the Guyana Badminton Team have medaled at every International Tournament we attended which includes, The Pan American Championships, Caribbean Championships, Suriname Easter International Championships and The South American Youth Games.”
