Shirley Dyal, a Essequibo mother, who resides in Venezuela is requesting the assistance of the local police to mobiles some form of strategy in apprehending her son’s killer.
Dyal’s son, 19-year-old, Fawaaz Mohamed, a Venezuelan national, sustained a single gunshot wound to his head several months ago in Venezuela and died. His killer is believed to be his brother-in-law, who fled Venezuela after the incident and is said to be hiding either on the Coast or in Barbados.
Dyal is adamant that her son-in-law is responsible for her son’s death and she wants justice for her son’s killer.
Relating the sad ordeal, Dyal said on January 26, last her youngest child, Fawaaz, a mechanic returned home and moments after he stepped out of his car was killed by a single bullet.
Dyal said that her son and his brother-in-law had no grievance; however, efforts to evict her son-in-law from her home in Venezuela became an issue. The woman believed that this fueled the measure of uneasiness between herself and son-in-law.
Dyal added that after the death of her son, she returned to Guyana and lodged a statement with the police at the Charity Outpost about her son’s death, since she was informed her son-in-law was hiding out somewhere on the Coast.
The depressed mother later learnt that her son-in-law had moved and could possibly be hiding out in Barbados.
Her main purpose for highlighting her story is to have the suspect arrested and prosecuted.
“I want to find closure and until the suspect is apprehended I would not find peace.”
Dyal said that her son-in-law is originally from the Essequibo Coast.
