Fire Service defeated City Constabulary by six wickets when the Balram Raghubir inter service 40-over cricket concluded yesterday at Police Sports Club, Eve Leary. Despite an opening stand of 29 between Anthony Thompson (08)
and Joseph Copidore (15) City Constabulary were bowled out for 76 in 16.4 overs after taking first strike. Devon Layne scored 10 as Fenton Saul grabbed 4-19 off four overs and Devon Harte 3-13 off three overs.
Fire Service replied with 77-4 in 8.1 overs. Don Brandis led the scoring with 30 not out (4×4), while Kwesi Mentore made 15. Devon Layne picked up two wickets.
However Police won the round robin tournament after winning all their matches. The presentation of prizes will be done on a date to be announced.
