Black, Persaud slam 100s, Benn, Browne, Newland hit 50s
Police demolished City Constabulary by a mammoth 491 runs when the Balram Raghubir Inter Service 40-over cricket tournament continued on Friday last.
Stephan Blacks and Munelall Persaud stroked centuries to lead Police run feast after they decided to bat at Eve Leary. Blacks stroked 110 (13×4), while Persaud slammed 106 (11×4,3×6) as the home team piled up 523-5 off their allotted overs. Trevor Benn weighed in with an attacking 83 not out (10×4,5×6), Rawle Browne scored 68 (4×4,4×6) and Michael Newland 66 (14×4). Mervin Tharmon claimed 2-85. City Constabulary were bowled out for 32 in 9.4 overs in reply.
Newland bagged 5-15 off 3.4 overs and Benn 3-11 from 5.
At GDF, the host went down to Prison Service by seven wickets. GDF managed 133 all out in 32 overs, while Prison Service replied with 134-3 in 22.5 overs. Ryan Rajmangal smashed an unbeaten 70.
