South Essequibo were crowned champions of the Essequibo Cricket Board (ECB)/Sterling Products U-15 50 overs tournament after recording a 57-run victory over North/Pomeroon in the final round game played recently.
South batted first and scored 194 all out in 36 overs. Vishal Singh scored 26, Arnold Adams 23 and Dasrshan Indar 20; Shivnarine Chattergoon bagged 4-17. North/ Pomeroon replied with 137 all out in 29 overs. Omesh Ramgobin top scored with 54 and Chattergoon made 20; Indar claimed 4-12.
Central/East Bank Essequibo beat Wakenaam/Leguan in their encounter. South along with runner up Central received trophies.
