The Caricom Bottling Company Inc. will be investing approximately $1B in the local economy as the entity adds six new flavours to its ever-growing beverage supply. This was disclosed at a recent launch of the ‘West Indies Vodka Cooler ‘at the Gravity Lounge, Regent and Camp Streets.
The launch is the first in a series of beverages (alcoholic and non alcoholic) that will soon be on the shelves of supermarkets and bars.
Chairman Joshua Safeek at the launching said “Our investment is true to the theory ‘for us by us,’ ultimately tapping into the beverage export market, thereby fueling our economy. All told, our company is investing some one billion dollars into the local economy and our many offerings are not limited to this beverage alone. We are the producers of the West Indies Spring Water that is mostly distributed through our fleet of trucks, growing list of distributors and office. Additionally, the bottled water is also accessible via a fleet of Red carts/coolers which ply the many commercial areas of the nation’s capital.”
Having been granted the relevant approval from the Food and Drug Department, with support from Go-Invest, Caricom Bottling Company Inc. will soon be introducing several other products such as West Indies LLB (Lemon, Lime and Bitters) and Cran-Water (Cranberry Flavored Water), and Safeek also hinted at beer in the not too distant future.
Caricom Bottling is a shareholder company with investors both locally and internationally based.
The recent launch was focused on the six flavours of Vodka Cooler “bottled to suit the desired needs of those who like sophisticated, flavorful taste.”
The products were introduced by several beauties wearing dresses designed by fashion designer Olympia Sonaram.
A marketing campaign will soon be launched according to Company Sales and Marketing Manager Mondale Smith, who was the night’s Master of Ceremonies.
