Banks DIH Limited, Trophy Stall among major sponsors as over 40 entered so far
Preparations have heightened for the Rising Sun Turf club in collaboration with the Shariff Business entity Post Mashramani one day horse race meet slated for Sunday 9th March at the Club’s Rising Sun Arima Park, West Coast Berbice.
Seven top notch races are carded for the day with prize monies totaling over $8.5M in cash and trophies up for the taking in what is expect to be a scorching day of racing.
So far over 40 animals have been entered for the day’s meet and with the feature event being taken care of by Banks DIH Limited the action is expected to be intense.
The feature C class event has a total prize money of over $2M with the winner set to race away with a sumptuous $1M and trophy compliments of Banks DIH Limited over 1400M. Among some of those expected to compete are Treacle, Swing Easy, Run Nana Run, Mission King, Force Entry, Settle In Seattle, Got to Go, the Message, CP Got Even, Red, California Strike, and Lovely among others.
The other events listed on the day’s card are the four year old race for West Indies maiden and Guyana bred horses over 1400M for $400,000 first prize and trophy.
The three year old race is for West Indies and Guyana Bred and born horses with a winning prize also set at $300,000 and trophy. The F Class event has a similar winner’s prize of $400,000 and trophy also over 1400M.
The G3 and lower showdown will see the top animals running for the $300,000 first prize in an 1100M contest. There is a race for I class horses with the pole position takings set at $250,000 and trophy over 1100M.
The other event on the programme is for horses classified J and lower and will see the winner receiving $180,000 and trophy.
The nation’s largest horse racing sponsors Beverage Giants Banks DIH Limited, Trophy Stall, Republic Bank, Gene Equipped (John Dere) Company, Chester Fry Chicken of Bush Lot West Coast Berbice, Hablaw Meat Centre, Berbice River Bridge and the Shariff Business enterprise are among the sponsors so far on board.
Businessman Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market as usual is on board with sponsorship for the individual prizes, which include the champion jockey, champion trainer and champion stable among others.
The Race will be held under the rules of the Guyana Horse racing Authority and Bugle time is 13:00 hrs.
Other horses expected are: Cat Messiah, Fairy Landing, Ameer’s Joy, Savion, East to win, Unsettled, War Craft, Silent Night, Fresh Again, Wild Grinder, Lady Secret, De Gump, Gold Rush, Top of The line, Damascus Dream, Monsoon, Shooting Star, Speed Vision and Piece of the Cash among others.
