Guyana will host this year’s West Indies Cricket Council for the Blind and Visually Impaired (WICCBVI) 7th Regional Cricket tournament from March 30.
Barbados, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Windward Islands are the other competing countries. Guyana has selected a squad of 20 from regions 2, 4, 6 and 10 to prepare for the tournament. The teams will be participating in a 40-over and a t20 format over eight days. Guyana has participated in four tournaments since it started in 2006 and the WICCBVI has took part in one World Cup and a t20 championship in Pakistan and India respectively along with a number of bi-lateral tournaments.
The local players will be involved in a number of Walk-a-Tons through out Guyana and the members of the Guyana Blind Cricket Association are calling on corporate Guyana to assist in the their fund raising efforts.
