As executives of the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA) continue to experiment with initiatives and strategies to improve the lot of their charges, several amateur Referees and Judges have been elected to various administrative positions that will examine all aspects of the profession while making recommendations for improvement where necessary.
The five-member group will be chaired by International Amateur Boxing Association (IABA) Referee, Ramona Agard, while Elton Chase is the Vice President. Nicola Yhapp is the Secretary with Richard Braithwaite and Marcelle Daniels as the Committee Members.
The group is tasked with the responsibility of examining all aspects of the trade and to make recommendations for the improvements where necessary. They have been mandated to submit a report to the GBA executive by Sunday afternoon next.
Further, the officials were tasked with thoroughly examining the issue of stipend for their services and submit a report to the GBA President. The team also held earlier discussions with Director of Youth and Sports, Neil Kumar and president of the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA), K A Juman Yassin.
