President of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Drubahadur said that former Public Relations Officer the late Terry Holder, who passed away on January 8, will surely be missed. Speaking at a wake held by the GCB in honour Holder on Sunday night last at Georgetown Cricket Club, Drubahadur said that he was a man of few words and always gives his heart out for cricket. “He always offered excellent advises and was very instrumental in our Hall of Fame”, the president added.
Former president of the Essequibo Cricket Board Alvin Johnson said that Holder was a humble individual and keen listener adding that he was always the sober voice in all the turmoil, while former president of the Guyana Teachers Union Lance Baptiste stated he gained the respect of everyone. Baptiste affirmed that apart from cricket Holder also loved football and played Table Tennis at the national level. He informed that Holder also served on the Guyana Table Tennis Association.
Holder’s daughter Dawn Holder thanked the GCB for hosting the function and said that her father truly loved cricket and they will continue to support the GCB.
Meanwhile, GCB secretary Anand Sanasie expressed condolences to his family.
Holder funeral will be held on Wednesday at St. Andrews Kirk at 13:30 hrs while viewing of his body will commence at 12:30 at Merriman Funeral Home. Holder served for over two decades on the GCB.
