Brandon Cabose XI defeated Mark Gonsalves XI by 7 wickets when the New Opportunity Corps (NOC) Sports Club cricket development programme continued on Saturday at the NOC ground on the Essequibo Coast.
Gonsalves XI batted first and scored 63-9 off their allocation of 20 overs. Gonsalves scored 24 (2×4,2×6), while Anthony Adams claimed 3-12, Orin Heyliger and Joshua Paul took 2 each. Cabose XI responded with 90-5 in 20 overs. Raj Parbattie scored 24 and Anthony Adams 20. Akieni Adams captured 3 wickets.
Trailing by 27 runs, Gonsalves reached 75-3 off their quota of 15 overs, batting a second time. Horace Ceres stroked 33 (4×4) and Alex Etwaroo 25 (3×4). Set 45 to win in 15 overs, Cabose XI achieve their target in 14.2 overs ending on 45-3. Cabose XI received a trophy, compliments of the club’s president Thakur Persaud.
