The Demerara Cricket Board (DCB) has arranged four Goodwill matches in Guyana with Ontario Cricket Association (OCA) of Canada from November 17 – 20.
On Sunday November 17, the Canadians will be in action in a 40 overs match against Enmore Cricket Club at Enmore ground, starting at 11:00 hours. On Monday November 18, they will journey to Everest Cricket Club for a T20 match from 13:00 hours.
Then on Tuesday November 19, Georgetown Cricket Club will host the visitors in a T20 game from 13:00hrs. And on Wednesday November 20, the OCA will take on Albion at Port Mourant in another T20 fixture at 12:30 hours.
They will then travel to Trinidad & Tobago for another tour before returning to North America.
One of the main objectives of the tour is to give the Ontario players much needed exposure and the OCA is extremely thankful to their sponsors whose generosity made the tour possible, especially The Scotia Bank.
The OCA is also thankful to the Consulate General of Guyana Hon. Sattie Sawh and the Consulate General of Trinidad and Tobago Dr. Vidya Maharaj for their unprecedented cooperation in arranging visas for their players at very short notice.
Also coming in for praise were the Ministry of Sports in Guyana, Mr. Suruj Ragoonath, CEO of Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board and Mr. Raj Singh, President of Demerara Cricket Board.
The OCA is looking forward to a wonderful tour and hopes that it will forge greater ties among Canada, Guyana and Trinidad & Tobago in a competitive, friendly and educational environment.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
