Price is Right Supermarket and the Upper Corentyne Cricket Association (UCCA) Second Division cricket competition continued in the Upper Corentyne area with more outstanding performances which included centuries from Nazim Mohammed (113) and Deoprakash Ramdat (103) which helped No. 71 trash No. 73 Young Warriors by 120 runs.
At the No.71 Ground in the match between No. 71 and No. 73 Young Warriors which was reduced to 30 overs due to a late start, Number 71 whipped No 73 by 120 runs.
Batting first, the No. 71 batsmen flayed the bowling to parts of the field as their team galloped to 257-2. Mohammed clobbered eight fours and nine sixes in his ton while Deoprakask Ramdat hammered 13 fours and three sixes in his century.
In reply No. 73 Young Warriors were bowled out for 137 runs in 28 overs despite a fighting 31 from Shawn Jamiesy. Ken Roopraj picked up four wickets for No. 71.
In another game at the No. 70 Ground, No. 70 Young Star defeated No.70 Cricket Club by 97 runs. No. 70 Young Star batted first and made 230 runs in 35 overs with Kevin Mathura 69 and Alim Haniff 55 being the main scorers. Bowling for No. 70 Latif Roophan took three wickets and Naeem Yacoob had two.
In reply No. 70 were bowled out for 133 in 25.4 overs; Tamesh Ramoutar making 50. Bowling for No. 70 Young Star left-arm-spinner Omesh Khemraj bagged four wickets while fast bowler Kamesh Sugrim had three scalps.
At the Skeldon Community Centre Ground, Corriverton defeated Crabwood Creek Rising by 22 runs. Batting first Corriverton reached 171 with Anil Seeraj 51 and Ray Singh 44 leading the fight.
In reply C.W.C Rising could only reach 149 as fast bowlers John Reid and Clavern Beresford took two wickets each.
At the No 48 Ground- No. 48 Challenger won from No. 47 Pioneer by 61 runs. Batting first No. 48 Challengers reached a respectable 203 all out in 30 overs. The hard hitting Mohan Lalu led the way with an even 50 with five fours and three sixes while Sates Singh contributed 40.
Bowling for No. 47 Pioneer Amar Lensankar with (3) and Tamesh Persaud (2) were the main wicket takers. In reply No. 47 Pioneer were bowled out for 142 despite 45 from Ano Diaran and 32 from Mohan Shaw. Bowling for No 48 Challengers Brian Samaroo took four wickets.
