An unbeaten 64 from Rovin Dusraj guided Rising Star to an emphatic victory over Aurora when action in the Edward Skeete and family T\20 tournament continued last Sunday in South Essequibo.
At Pomona, Aurora batted first and managed 151 all out in 19.4 overs with Anand Maniram and Timur and scoring 24 each. Jagdesh Dindyal snared 3-16, Insaaf Latchman and Dusraj took 2-18 apiece and
Navindra Dindyal 2-21. Rising Star replied with 154-4 in 16 overs with Dusraj spearheading the chase with three fours and five sixes. He received support from Kurt Jones 30 not out and Rohan Ramdass 20. Reshad Ali took 2-24.
At Pomona, New Opportunity Corps seniors went down to Jaguars by 1 wicket. NOC took first strike and scored 131 before they were bowled in 19.3 overs. Sase Narine led with 27 (4×4), Mark Gonsalves made 20 and Joshua Paul 19. Shazaad Ali and Jerome Ramnauth picked up 2 wickets each. Jaguars replied with 132-9 in 19.5 overs. Sherkhan Khan was their leading batman with 41 (2×4,3×6) and Husbard Thomas 18; Orian Heyliger grabbed 2-22 and Anthony Adams 2-23.
El Dorado got the better of NOC juniors by 36 runs at NOC. Eldorado rattled up 134 all out in 20 overs after taking first strike then restricted NOC juniors to 98-8 in 20 overs.
Meanwhile, Jaguars and Rising Star of zone B and El Dorado of zone A have qualified for the semi finals.
