The 2013 New Building Society Second Division 40-Over Cricket Competition, organized by the Berbice Cricket Board for teams in the Ancient County, continued recently with some outstanding performances.
Somdat Singh slammed 103 which included 6 fours and 11 sixes and Hazim Mohamed 58, which together with contribution of 49 from Deoprakash Ramdat and 43 from Imran Mohamed propelled No.71 to a whopping 333 all-out in 35 overs against Progressive Youth, the highest score in the competition for this year so far. Then their opening pacers Krishna Sugrim
took 6 for 16 from 5.3 overs and Nazim Mohamed 4 for 14 from 5 overs to clean up Progressive Youth for a paltry 29 in reply, to seal a 304-run victory.
Medium pacer Lakeram Latchman took 6 for 28 from 7 overs to help No.73 Young Warriors defeat No.70 Young Star by 19 runs, while there were three 5-wicket hauls for Akram Razack of Springlands, Chetram Ramroop of Bath and Ravi Balgobin of Progressive Youth.
Other batsmen scoring half centuries were Andrew Dutcin of Exhowa, Ravi Gossai of Bath and former Guyana under-15 all-rounder Kevin Ramdeen of Young Warriors.

At No.73, No.73 Young Warriors beat No.70 Young Star by 19 runs. No.73 Young Warriors 129 in 32.2 overs with Lakeram Latchman 36, Hemant Jagdeo 25 and Alim Hanif 3 for 6. No.70 Young Star 110 in 22.3 overs with Tharesh Ramcharran 38, Lakeram Latchman 6 for 28 and Hemant Jagdeo 2 for 37.
At No.72, Springlands beat No.72 All Star by 9 runs. Springlands 122 in 25.5 overs with Clarence Beresford 33, Ryan Ramdass 32, Nityalall Durgalall 3 for 15, Gajraj Bhoj 2 for 10 and Darendranauth Jairam 2 for 19. No.72 All Star 113 in 23.1 overs with Akram Rajack 5 for 14 and Ryan Ramdass 4 for 5.
At Bath, Bath beat Exhowa by 4 wickets. Exhowa 183 in 39 overs with Andrew Dutchin 64, Chetram Ramroop 5 for 28 and Anil Amanchar 2 fr 29. Bath 184 for 6 in 23.1 overs with Ravi Gossai 55 not out, Chetram Dhaprasad 35, Navin Ramnauth 26, Ravi Gangaram 2 for 9 and Andrew Dutchin 2 for 27.
At Cumberland, Young Warriors beat Tucber Park by 6 wickets. Tucber Park 126 in 39.4 overs with Nial Smith 25 and Hubern Evans 4 for 23. Young Warriors 129 for 4 in 24.1 overs with Kevin Ramdeen 52.
At Seafield, Rainbow Generation beat No.28 Warriors Boss by 5 wickets. No.28 Warriors Boss 71 in 23 overs with Renison Mitchell 3 for 11, Tyson Carmichael 3 for 9 and Keno Gravesande 2 for 10. Rainbow Generation 73 for 5 in 14 overs.
At Bush Lot Farm, Kennard’s Memorial beat No.43 Scorpion by 38 runs. Kennard’s Memorial 166 in 25.2 overs with Devo Ramnarine 34, Kamadevin Permariloo 34, Karamchand Ramnarine 28, Bhojpaul Deen 4 for 35 and Yugeshwar Dhanroop 3 for 27. No.43 Scorpion 128 in 18.4 overs with Khamnauth Goberdhan 44, Devendra Sydney 3 for 9 and Tamesh Ramessar 2 for 12.
