Police are hunting for a woman who allegedly threw acid on her ex-boyfriend’s lover, after the man turned up in her street with the new girlfriend.
Reports state that the suspect, who is from Beterveragting, East Coast Demerara, threw a corrosive substance on 43-year-old Michelle Mc Donald, a Middle Walk, Buxton clothes vendor, while the victim was sitting in her boyfriend’s car around 20:00 hrs last Friday.
Mc Donald has been admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation Burns Unit with first degree burns to the face, abdomen and thighs.
Kaieteur News understands that the suspect’s lover recently broke up with her and began a relationship with Mc Donald. It is alleged that around 20:00 hrs last Friday, the man, accompanied by Michelle Mc Donald, drove to the street where the ex-girlfriend lives.
While Mc Donald remained in the car, the man reportedly parked a few yards away from the former girlfriend’s house and went to the woman’s house, reportedly to collect his belongings.
The ex-girlfriend realised that Mc Donald was waiting outside and a quarrel ensued between the woman and the former lover. It is alleged that the woman then went to the man’s car and threw a corrosive substance on Mc Donald.
The injured woman was rushed to the hospital while her attacker reportedly fled and was still at large up to yesterday.
The incident occurred just a few days after another jilted woman allegedly recruited another female to kill her rival.
The victim, Linda Phillips, was stabbed twice in the back but survived the attack while the woman who was allegedly hired to dispose of Phillips and the alleged ‘mastermind’ are in custody.
