The cricket community in Essequibo was left in a state of shock with the passing of former Guyana U-19 all rounder Shivnandan Madholall. Madholall who also represented Essequibo at the senior level passed away recently at his home at Reliance, Essequibo Coast after he fell ill. He was thirty.
Public Relations Officer of the Essequibo Cricket Board (ECB) Nazeer Mohamed told Kaieteur Sport yesterday that members of the board were saddened with his demise and said that the board would like to express sympathy to his relatives. Mohamed indicated that Madholall was a talented player and was about to make a comeback to the game after sitting out of the recently concluded 50 over tournament.
Madholall also captained the West Indies U-19 Development XI and played for the Imam Bacchus, Cotton Field and Lima cricket clubs in Central Essequibo. He left behind two children and is expected to be cremated tomorrow.
