Blairmont Community Centre’s Kevon Jawahir stroked a chanceless 110 (12×4, 2×6) and had figures of 6-4, while Nick Ramsaroop hit a well-constructed 85(10×4) to help Blairmont Community Centre beat No 7 Silver Park by 240 runs when play continued in the Western Berbice Cricket Association, Intermediate 40 overs competition.
Keno Gravesande also had a good match with 35 runs and 2-25 to help guide Rainbow Generation past Bush Lot United. In another game, Derick Narine jr made a swashbuckling 68 (6×6,4×4) and 2-14 to help D’Edward Sports Club beat No 7 by 59 runs.
Scores in the games were – At Blairmont: Blairmont Community Centre batted first and hammered a massive 305-4 in their 40 overs against No 7 Silver Park with Kevon Jawahir blasting 110, Nick Ramsaroop 85 and Shabeer Baksh 35. Bowling for No 7 Silver Park, Devon Jacob picked up 3-40. NO 7 Silver Park in reply were bundled out for 65 with Jawahir returning to crown a fine all round performance with excellent figures of 6 wickets for 4 runs, while Baksh also had a good match with 2-18.
Over at Bath: No 28 Cricket Club defeated Bath Cricket Club by 1wkt in a close encounter. Bath batted first and were bundled out for 145 in 29.3 overs with Naresh Singh hitting 35 and Harold Tarsan 33 (2×6, 4×4).
Bowling for No28 D. Duke, Nigel Wilson and K. Gilkes pick two wickets each. No 28in reply after a good start, lost their way before scraping home at 146-9 with Delroy Fraser 51(1×6, 8×4) and Wilson 20 being the top scorers. Bowling for the losers N. Ramnauth picked up 4 wickets.
At Seafield: Rainbow Generation beat Bush Lot by 65 runs. Taking first strike Rainbow Generation reached 206 all out from 38 overs with Keno Gravesande making 35, Peter Grant 35 and Tyson Carmichael 32.
Bowling for Bush Lot Krisindat Ramoo with 3 wickets, R. Kishun, O. Ramnarine and A. Khan 2 wickets were the wicket takers. Bush Lot in reply fell for 141 with T. Ramnarine 43 and D. Ganesh 23. Bowling for Rainbow Generation, Troy McKenzie and Keno Gravesande picked up two wickets each.
At D’Edward: D’Edward beat No 7 by 59 runs. D’Edward Sports Club batted first and s made 166 all out from 26.5 overs with Derick Jr. Narine scoring 68. Bowling for No7 S. Motilall snared 3wickets while Z. Zaman and A. Chattergoon supported with apiece.
No 7 in their turn at the crease were bundled out for 107 all with D. Bridgemohan 20 and T. Kistoo 17 being among the runs. Bowling for D’Edward R. Ivan with 3 wickets and Derick Narine 2 were among the wickets. (Samuel Whyte)
