Two men were yesterday placed before Magistrate Leron Daly on allegations of robbery.
One charge stated that on January 14 at Georgetown, Joseph George robbed Melanie Etwaroo of one gold chain valued $70,000. He pleaded not guilty
However, the prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that the defendant recently served a six-month sentence for a similar offence and that the articles were found on him when he was arrested.
George pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison until January 31.
Meanwhile, Rawle Adams was granted $80,000 bail on a charge that he allegedly stole 24 toilet seats valued $120,000 – property of Fay Ann Harris – on
December 21, last.
Adams, 42, a vendor, of West Road, Sparendaam, Plaisance, also denied knowledge of the charge against him.
He is also scheduled to return to court on January 31.
