Eleven-year-old Michael Kemfume last week received his bursary award from the Burnham Educational Scholarship Trust (BEST). Making the donation was PNCR leader David Granger.
Michael, accompanied by his father Archie Kemfume, and PNCR Regional coordinator Gloria Bancroft visited Congress Place to receive the award.
The BEST was established by the PNCR to support successful students – one from each region – who were successful in gaining entrance to secondary schools based on the final results of the National Grade Six Assessment examinations held earlier this year.
Michael, who gained a place at the Paramakatoi Secondary School in the Potaro-Siparuni Region, was unable to travel to Georgetown earlier. The first presentations were made during the PNCR’s 55th anniversary celebrations in October.
