Four games are slated for today when competition in the Guyana Football Federation Super League continues at two venues today.
Point’s leaders Uitvlugt Warriors will again enjoy home advantage when they entertain Upper Demerara’s Amelia’s Ward United in opening play from 13:30hrs. Another Upper Demerara side will face off against another West Demerara side in the feature game, Milerock against Den Amstel.
Uitvlugt turned back the challenge of Milerock when the two met at the said venue and Amelia’s Ward will be aiming to halt the West side team’s enterprising run of form in their debut year at this level.
Milerock will be going all out for full points following a draw on Tuesday last while Den Amstel will be aiming to salvage some points having lost to Uitvlugt in their last encounter. Both matches are expected to be keen.
Up at the Buxton Ground, East Coast Demerara, fans are bracing for what is anticipated to be an entertaining afternoon of action.
Pele and BV Triumph United will set the tone for the day’s proceedings when they face off from 13:30hrs. Buxton will start with the odds in their favour with an unbeaten record to preserve apart from standing second in the points table behind Uitvlugt.
The main showdown brings together BV Triumph United (also unbeaten) and Western Tigers to seal the clash of the city sides against their East Coast rivals. Fans are expected to turn out in their numbers to add their support. Mouth watering encounters can be expected.
