Four days prior to the 6th annual Guyana Cup Horserace Meeting at the Port Mourant Race Track, Corentyne Berbice, the organizers continue to receive valuable support, this time from beverage giants, Banks DIH Ltd. The management of that organization has recently acquiesced to a sizeable sponsorship package towards the successful staging
of the meet.
Guyana Cup Coordinator, Melissa Chattergoon recently visited the Thirst Park offices of the beverage company and was accompanied by her deputy coordinator, Campton Sancho. There, a team of executives from the beverage company including Banks Premium Beer Brand Manager, Brian Choo-Hen and Branches Controller, Gavin Jodhan handed over a large trophy and a cheque for a substantial amount to the organizers.
Ms Chattergoon expressed deep appreciation to her benefactors and assured them that the gift would go a long way in offsetting the stringent cost associated with organizing the event. For their part, the two representatives of Banks DIH Ltd said that their organization has always supported sport activities since it is through sports that nations are built. They further wished the organizers well while imploring the public to support the venture.
The track has recently been refurbished and the organizers have assured turfites that all systems are in place for an action packed day of horseracing. There will be eleven exciting races among horses that are bred in North America and the Caribbean vying for over thirty million dollars in cash and other prizes.
Activities include lots of family oriented events, while the popular Slingerz song system would provide delectable music.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
