Wilfred Boodhoo donates gear to GABA, stages one day seminar
Guyanese, Canadian based Executive of the World Boxing Council (WBC) and former International Boxing Referee/Judge and Coach, Wilfred Boodhoo, held a one day seminar for boxing officials, including coaches yesterday at the Andrew ‘Six head’ Lewis Boxing Gym for local personnel who came from Berbice, Essequibo and the City.

Boodhoo, who has a wealth of experience in officiating and other aspects of boxing, took the participants through the intricacies of successfully playing their role as well as highlighting changes in the system. He encouraged them to strive for excellence.
His main target at this session was coaches as they looked at the implementation of new strategies in training top notch fighters.
At the conclusion, Boodhoo presented several pieces of gear including counting apparatus that records punches thrown and landed, lasers and whistles among others.
Guyana Amateur Boxing Association President Steve Ninvalle expressed gratitude to Boodhoo for his gifts, noting that it is support of this nature from persons in the Diaspora that goes a long way in helping the sport progress. He called on others to also when and where necessary chip in.
