All roads lead to RCMT&SF for Caricom Horserace meet

Over 100 horses entered

The long wait is over the day is finally here and with systems in place and all roads  lead to the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Sports Facilities (RCMTC&SF) as thousands are expected to swarm the venue for the Caricom Day Banks DIH mega one day horserace meet.
With over $9M at stake in the 10-race event it’s no wonder over 100 entries have been received.
With this being the first race meet of the second half of the 2012 racing season where the two year old horses will be feature for the first time, the day’s event is eagerly anticipated. The organizers with a reputation of organizing outstanding events and with the Alness track being one of the best tracks in Guyana, the principals have vowed to make this the signature event for the rest of the year.
The feature B and lower event known as the Private Dancer stakes over 1700M compliments Banks DIH Limited  and the  Elcock Family of the USA has a sumptuous first prize of $1M and Elcock family trophy with a total purse of over $2M.  The competitive field will have the likes of Mission King, The Message, Custom Warrior, Who So Ever, Donut Prince, Dark & Lovely, Zelik, Fresh Again and the newly imported Renia Del Café.
The E and lower event has the likes of Ferry Landing, Work Force Miss Regina, Intriguing Account, Traditional Man, Super Cat, De Girl Dem Sugar competing for the Stakes compliments of Bobby Misir, Two Brothers, Mrs. Poonai, C. Poonai, Ryan Pereira, Mohamed Rahim and P& P Insurance for a first prize of $500,000 and the Ryan Crawford Memorial Trophy over 1200M.
The 3 years old Guyana and West Indies Bred horses competing in 31st running of the Alness Derby over 1600M also for a sumptuous $500,000 are Storm in a Tea Cup, Red Cloud, Rock Sonia, Country Serenade, Feels like Gold and Silent Lizzie.
The race for 2 years old Guyana and West Indian bred horses over 1100M will see the winner racing away with $450,000 and the Robbie Tickaram trophy complements of the Tickaram family of the USA.  Among those entered are Wild Grinder, Silent Flame, Flying baby, The Legend, The Shariff and Gold Princess and the newly imported True Gold.
The Guyana Bred Three Year old horses will race over 1000M for the winner’s money of $400,000 and trophy compliments of the Guyana Bank of Trade Industry and the Aubrey Elcock family of the USA trophy Watch My Shadow, Joyful Victory and Speed Girl.
The two year old Guyana Bred event with Stakes donated by the RCMTC&SF for the top prize of $400,000 and the King’s Way Memorial Trophy compliments of the Suknandan Family of the USA over 950M will have Jasmine, Party Time, Peeping Tom, Sport Again, Motor Vator (Jr.), Easy Win, Royal Passion, Dream Boy, Summer Breeze, Silent Night, and Kevin 2 competing.
A competitive event is anticipated as a full gate has taken entry in the G and lower1600M even which will see the winner taking home $400,000 and the Roopnauth Sewsankar of the USA trophy. Going are Swing Easy Sleeping Thong, Royal Champion, Gold Plated, Face De Fire, Dubai Duchess and Majestic, Bridal Stone Corner, Celebration Love,  Peace & Love, Gold prince, Treacle, Summer Classic, Celebration Time and Flash Of Melodies.
The H & Lower 1400M race with Stakes and trophy donated by Digicel, Delmur Company Limited and Hand in Hand Insurance for the Digicel trophy with a first prize of $300,000 has a lineup that reads Dream Girl, Stormy Lass, De Gump, Savion, Prixie Fire, Wicked Intention, Speed Vision, Third World, Extra Heat, Funny side and Apostle.
The animals in the ‘I’ class event will be competing for $180,000 winners money  and trophy over 1400M compliments of  Abiola Wong-Inniss, Berkley Mining and the RCMTC&SF along with the Chico Singh trophy with the likes of Try Again, Silver, Kid, Kevin, Mona Lisa, JD Ann, Princess Renukha, Blessing and Little Trickster in the hunt.
The final race for the day is the J, K, & L event will fetch a winning prize of $150,000 over 1400M compliments of Desmond Sears, Caricom General Insurance for the Henry Green trophy. The horses entered are Justin, Windy Killer, Pick Pocket, Lucky Gamble, Care Taker, Wonder Flower, Royal Time and Sporting Time, Smarty Light, Gaza, its My Time, No Surprise and Surpremo.
Outstanding individual performers including top Jockey, trainer and stable will be presented with accolades compliments of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market and the RCMTC&SF.
