A total of 25 goals were scored in four matches when the Guyana Football
Federation (GFF) Under-16 Inter Association competition continued over the weekend.
Recording the biggest win was Upper Demerara who hammered Essequibo 12-0 at the Uitvlugt Community Centre Ground. Shane Luckie found the nets on five occasions (6, 7, 13, 40, 71); Shaquel Clarke netted a hat-trick (34, 50, 73), while there was one each for Troy Lewis (38), David Sanichere (42), Martin Leacock (68) and Kurt Johnson 88.
In the other match at this venue, home team West Demerara blanked Bartica 5-1 Omari Haynes led with a brace (39, 88) with one apiece for Travis Bascom (6), Dyron Giddings and Mark Skinner. Bartica’s consolation goal came off the boot of Breon Bacchus.
Up at the BV Ground, home team East Coast took care of business against East Bank 4-0, Romario Welcome netting all four goals. He hit the network in the 19th, 26th, 75th and 79th minute.
And up at the Blairmont Community Centre Ground in the Ancient County, Berbice turned back the challenge of Georgetown 2-1. Marlon Nicholson in the 49th and Mark Wrong six minutes later were the players scoring for the home team. Georgetown’s consolation goal came off the boot of Jermaine Fletcher in the 75th minute.
