The Legion Hall, Carifesta Avenue, will come alive when Johnny ‘Overseas’ Barnwell in collaboration with the South Turkeyen Sports Committee stages a 27 teams domino competition from March 27-30 next. Some games will also be played at the Guyana Prison Service Canteen.
Those teams competing for the top prize of $100,000 are the Guyana Legion, Guyana Prison Service, Guyana Fire Service, Guyoil, Under the Tree, Edward B Beharry, Black Stallion Warriors and Front Line Massive among others.
Teams are required to post an entrance fee of $10,000 and the winning team carts off $100,000 and a beautiful trophy. The second place finishers receive half that amount, while the third and fourth place finishers receive $25,000 and $15,000 respectively. Each of these teams will also receive a trophy while the most valuable player in the final receives one cell phone.
Several business enterprises and individuals have contributed towards the success of the tournament while the draws will be conducted on Friday March 23. The organizer is Johnny ‘Overseas’ Barnwell.
Please share this to every Guyanese including your house cats.
