GMR&SC ‘Race of Champions’ set for April 1

With the sport enjoying growing popularity over the past two years, the Guyana

(Flashback)- Action in a Group 4 race at a previous Meet, at the South Dakota Circuit.

Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) has organized the ‘Race of Champions’ Meeting which will be held on Sunday, April 1, at the South Dakota Circuit.
According to an official close to the club, most of the country’s leading drivers in the Group 1-4 categories along with the Super bikers in the A and B Divisions will engage each other in a battle for supremacy, while many of them are expected to use the occasion to prepare for the first Meet in the Caribbean Series scheduled to be staged on May 20, at the Dover Raceway in Jamaica.
The official added that drivers such as Andrew King, Kevin Jeffrey, Mark Vieira, Paul Vieira will be battling in Group 4, while Trinidad and Tobago’s Ravi Singh, Kamal Seebarran, Kemal Rahaman, Ryan Rahaman are anticipated to take to the starting line in the Group 3 division.
Among the Group 2 B category, drivers such as Shairaz Roshandin, Afraz Allie, Danny Persaud, Marcel Profitt, Vishaul Sawh and Suriname’s Oliver Tjin Liep Shie will once again renew their fierce rivalry.
The Group 2A Division is loaded with talent and most of the competitors are known to be very keen on success.
Among those anticipated to be in the fray for top honours include Chet Singh, Jad Rahaman, Syed Hassan, Aaron Bethune and Roshan Ali, who incidentally is the man to beat now in the category.
The Super bike division has been developing plenty interest and even though Stephen ‘Valentino Rossi’ Vieira remains the rider to beat, Joel Niblett, Maurice Menezes and Carlos Rodrigues could still have some say on the day.
Rodrigues seems to be the most talented of the pack that will be aiming to dethrone Vieira, but Menezes and Niblett have been steadily improving and working on their skills so it could be an interesting battle come race day.
Fans are being urged to get to the South Dakota Circuit for a day of exhilarating action among the best drivers and riders in Guyana.
