Kidney patient appeals to public for financial support
Kampta Shivsanker 31, of Lot 674, Best Village, West Coast Demerara, is appealing to the public for monetary
donations to facilitate a surgery to replace one of his kidneys.
The surgery which was scheduled to be done at the Balwant Singh’s Hospital in March, costs about $3M.
Shivsanker, whose diagnosis was made a year ago, had to use all his savings to facilitate his ongoing dialysis treatment, which costs $45,000 per week.
In addition to the cost of surgery, Shivsanker also has to pay for medical treatment for him and his donor, after surgery. This is expected to go on for about a year.
Initially, Shivsanker’s sister had pledged to donate one of her kidneys but she subsequently backed out of the arrangement.
Another close relative has since taken her place.
“Me ain’t even sure if de surgery gon postpone because we have to do over all de test on the new donor,” Shivsanker said.
Shivsanker, a father of one, is appealing to the public for support with the hope that he will get a new lease on life.
Interested persons can make donations through his Citizens Bank account number 218594288 or by making contact with him on telephone numbers 614-1334 or 699-2115.
