Trinidad and Tobago brushed aside Canada by 8 wickets (with 17 balls remaining) via the D/L method after rain affected their Group-A match of the Caribbean Twenty20 tournament yesterday at Kensington Oval.
T&T reached 91 for 2 off 14.2overs chasing a revised target after they had restricted Canada to 99 for 9. Ruvindu Gunasekera hit 23 and Hiral Patel top scored with 32 for Canada as Ravi Rampaul captured 4 wickets to lead T&T. He had support from Satr of the match Dwayne Bravo with 3 and Kevon Cooper 1.
When T&T batted, Darren Bravo 42 not out and Skipper Denesh Ramdin 30 not out saw them to victory after the rain break.
Canada made two changes to their line-up with Zubin Surkari and Manny Aulakh coming in to replace Salman Nazar and Jeremy Gordon.
T&T made one change – Jason Mohammed swapping places with Sherwin Ganga.
