A mother of five who was brutally chopped about the lower body before being robbed
on a gold mining camp in the interior is pleading with the police to apprehend her attackers who escaped.
The woman who was too hysterical identified herself as Miss Pilleau, said that she was a supervisor on a gold dredge at Mahdia when she was attacked while asleep in the wee hours of last Sunday.
She explained that three men visited her camp and turned off the light. They then proceeded to shine a flashlight into her face blinding her, while demanding that she give them the money.
“Is three man know dat I had dis money, $400,000 but dem aint get de money. I had a purse around meh waist with meh kiddy with de raw gold, all meh jewels dem, $20,000. She further said that the Amerindian man who was in the camp at the time she was being beaten and chopped, ran away.
“Is he set it up; is he know I had this money and gold and everything. He and a Rasta boy name ‘Father’ from Linden. Is dem set it up. And the police ain’t come and dem ain’t do nothing about it.”
Adding that the same Sunday she was brought to the city and admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital, she said she spent four days in the hospital and was discharged Thursday without any visits from the police.
The 40-year-old mother of five who had steel inserted into her left lower leg which was almost severed, also had several other lacerations on both of her legs.
“I ain’t got money; I ain’t got nothing. I deh at a friend but nobody ain’t want to keep meh with this foot because for a pee, people got to carry me and pull down me underwear, for a bathe people got to wipe off my skin.” The woman said in agony.
