A number of top class horses have so far taken entry for the Annual Port Mourant Turf Club one day Horserace meet billed for Sunday December 11 at Port Mourant.
With the horses enjoying over a month’s rest all of the top runners in the business are being whipped into shape and are ready to give it their all in the $6.5 M meet. Eight races are on the cards and with so much on offer, the meet is expected to be scintillating.
With just over two weeks to go before race day entries are filling up at a fast rate with some 60 entries so far. The event has been upgraded with the two C class races now being classified as B. The events listed for the day are the feature C class race which will be going for a top prize of $1.2M with prize monies totaling over $2.2 over 1700M.
The other C class co-feature event will cater for the sprinters and will see the animals compete for a winning money of $600,000 over 1000M. Some of the horses entered for the two races are The Message, Donut Prince, Zelik, Night Crescendo, Got to Go, Grande Roja, Miss Orientate, Fairy Landing, Gullium, Prince Charming, Dubai Duchess, Stormy Flame, Top of the Line and Wad a Luck.
The Three Year old event for Guyana and West Indies Bred Horses has the likes of Work Force, Technology, Captain Crook, Face The Fire, Celebrating Love, Northern Dancer and Bridal stone Corner racing for the $500,000 top prize over 1500M.
Among those entered for the Two year Old Open event for Guyana and West Indies Bred Horses are Serenity, Times have changed, Red Cloud, Rock Sonia, Something Stylish, Big Red, Kiara and Pride and Joy over 1000M for the $400,000 first prize.
The F class event has $300,000 available for the winner over 1200 meters with Appealing Harvest, Maya, Stormy Lass, Prado Gold and Zelona among the early entries.
The H class race will see the likes of Royal Champion, Prospectors pride, The Gump, Funny Sided, Infinity and Dream Girl rumbling for the winning prize of $200,000 over the 1000M distance.
There is the race for animals classified ‘I ‘and lower animals with Savion and Prince Renuka among the entries over 1300M with a winning money of $150,000 on offer.
The other event is for the animals classified I3 and lower over 1000M for a winners take of $120,000. Entries are expected to close on Saturday December 3 (today).
Outstanding performers including top Jockey, top stable, top trainer will be presented with accolades compliments of Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market.
