4th annual Cheddi B. Jagan Memorial Football tourney unveiled

The 4th annual Cheddi B. Jagan Memorial football tournament organised by the Berbice Football Association (BFA) was officially launched on Sunday last at the Blairmont Estate Community Centre, Ground.
Following remarks from Officials and the Organisers a feature match between defending champions New Amsterdam United and National Super League team, Rosignol United ended in an exciting nil all stalemate.
Witnessed by a fair sized crowd, which was vociferously backing Rosignol United, the youthful New Amsterdam side, playing without seasoned campaigners Adrian ‘Garnett’ Adams, Colin ‘Ash’ Bowry and a number of other senior players, stood up to the task of representing admirably as they nullified the many attacks from the Rosignol lads.
This encounter sets the tone for what is anticipated to be an exhilarating tournament which will showcase the best players in the Ancient County.
The other teams competing are Monedderlust FC, Pistons United, Corriverton Links, Cougars FC along with first timers Courtland United and Hardliners.   Matches are set to begin this weekend.
