Friends of a 23-year-old Albouystown resident Tony Anderson, called Stephan Anderson, or ‘Max’, are alleging that he was abducted shortly after 13:00 hrs yesterday in the vicinity of the Camp Street Prison.
Shivon Roach, the man’s fiancée, said that she was informed that Anderson was abducted by three men while standing near the Camp and D’Urban Streets intersection.
The men reportedly forced Anderson into a white car with a PJJ licence number.
Roach said that a woman who witnessed the incident said that one of the men had dreadlocks, while another was dark, stocky, and wore a fitted cap.
One of the men was reportedly armed with a baseball bat.
According to Anderson’s girlfriend, the eyewitness handed her Anderson’s bicycle which was left at the scene.
The missing man’s fiancée says that she has checked at various police stations but has been unable to locate him. According to the woman, she was instructed that she would have to wait 24 hours to make a missing persons report.
Other acquaintances of Anderson’s said that three men in a white car were in Albouystown earlier in the day enquiring about the man’s whereabouts.
One friend said that Anderson had recently confided that he had a dispute with a businessman.
Kaieteur News was told that Anderson was detained at the Vigilance Police Station about a month ago in connection with a robbery/murder on the East Coast of Demerara.
He was released without being charged.
