Under the theme “Stronger, as you go on life’s journey”, the Carnegie School of Home Economic held its graduation ceremony on Thursday at the National Cultural Centre, where 72 students graduated in various fields.
The Carnegie School of Home Economic strives to remain in the leading role of training persons in culinary arts, hospitality and human development for Guyana and further afield.
At the ceremony, graduates were advised and encouraged to use the skills acquired in the past years to the best of their ability and to satisfy the needs of their community.
The presentation saw students graduating in various fields– 12 students from Cosmetology, 13 from Commercial Food Preparation, three from Garment Construction, 24 from Craft Production and Design Division and 18 from Catering and Hospitality.
Top graduates received trophies and certificates.
According to the chairperson, Carol Benn, “the school has found strength, has found new programmes and has thought of expanding”. She further noted that students can now seek employment and be in the world of work and can now take their study to a higher level.
The audience was entertained by cultural presentation; fashion display and dances organized by the school.
