Action in the Guinness Greatest in Da Street opened on Saturday at the Albouystown Tarmac with several exciting games.
Senior officials of sponsors Banks DIH, including Carlton Joao, who did the official kick off, were on hand for the opening programme and to witness the action after. The community based tournament, which has had tremendous support in its previous edition where Charlestown emerged winners, continued in a similar vein on Saturday.
A large crowd came out to see the action.
In results from the matches contested; Charlestown opened there defence in fine fashion beating BV 3-2. For Charlestown Michael Payne 3rd min, Jamal Bevon 7th min and D. Bond 11th were on target, while for BV, Akum Charles 2nd min and G. Harris 9th min were on target.
Rasville and Kingston drew 1-1 with the respective scorers being Rocky Cumberbatch 3rd and Nigel Denny 8th min.
Kitty lost to Island Allstar 0-2 with Devon Hyman 16th and Paul Porter 5th the scorers.
Globe Yard and Sophia 3-3; Goal Scorers – Globe Yard Anthony France 5th min and V. Roberts 11th and 13th min, while for Sophia Kevin Lewis 6th min, Shemroy Arthur 8th min and Mark Marshall 10th .
Durban Street and Broad Street drew 1-1; Goal Scorers – Durban Street Colin Softly 10th min and Broad Street Jimmy Gravesande 5th min.
Alexander Village eased past North-Last Entrance 2-0 with Leon Yaw 10th min and Dellon Williams 18th min on target.
Leopold Street went down to Albouystown B 3-1. For Leopold Street, A. Sookhoo 20th scored the lone goal, while the winning Albouystown B had Ryan Bobb 10th , Delroy D’Aguiar 16th min and Sheldon Thomas 18th on target.
Albouystown A halted Norton Street 3-1. Goal Scorers – Albouystown A Andrew Murray 4th min, Dellon Small 7th and 14th min, while for Norton Street Randolph Sinclair 10th min made the lone response.
