Georgetown Stabroek Lions Club (GSLC) presented clocks and recycle bins
to St Stanislaus College in acknowledgement of World Service Day, according to Vice President of GSLC, Odessa DeBarros.
The event took the Headmistress of St Stanislaus College by surprise.
The students seemed pleased with the donations.
One person said that very little was said on behalf of the school, because of the relationship with the Ministry of Education.
Ms. DeBarros explained that every year GSLC makes donations to different Schools through various organizations. The recycle bins and clocks will be for the benefit of seventh grade students to encourage recycling and time consciousness.
According to Omadevi Dukharan, a seventh grade student at St Stanislaus College, “it is really nice to give schools these items for the benefit of the children.”
