The Rising Sun Turf Club is known for its Benevolence and once again the club in collaboration with the charity organization the True Friendship Society will stage the grand annual One day Fund Raising Horserace meet on Sunday 2nd October at the Club’s Track Arima Park, Rising Sun West Coast Berbice.
The major sponsors so far are Banks DIH Limited, Digicel and businessman Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market.
Eight races are listed for the day with over $5.2M in prize monies, trophies and other memorabilia at stake and with a number of feature events on the card the day’s action is set to be riveting.   So far over 45 horses have taken entry and entries were expected to close yesterday.
The top event on the day’s card is for E class horses with a top prize of $500,000 compliments of Beverage Giants Banks DIH Limited over a 1400M distance.
The other races listed on the days programme are the three year old event for horses Bred and Born in Guyana and the West Indies over 1300M with a winning purse of $400,000, the two year old event goes over 1100M with the first prize tagged at $ 300,000.
There is a race for Guyana Bred maiden two year old horses also over 1100M where the winner will get $200,000.
The highly competitive G class event is over 1300 Meters and the winner is set to cart off $220,000.
The H class event is for a winner’s money of $200,000 this time over 1300M.  The ‘I’ class event will be going for a top prize of $180,000 over a 1300M distance.
The final event is for 13 horses with one win and lower where the winner is set to receive $160,000 and is another 1100M sprint.
Other incentives on offer will be for champion jockey and champion trainer compliments of the Trophy Stall Bourda Market and the organizers. All proceeds go towards charity.
