-GFC, Flamingo play to a draw
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) and Santos both registered wins as play in the Milo Under-23 Football Tournament organised by Fruta Conquerors continued on Thursday evening at the Tucville ground.
The GPF gained a walkover from the University of Guyana, while Santos edged Charlestown United 2-1 and GFC and Flamingo played to a nil-all stalemate.
In the Santos versus Charlestown United clash, the victors got their goals from Jermain Bamfield, who netted in the 36th minute of play, while Stephan Peters added the other in the 54th.
On target for Charlestown United was Rickford Jones whose effort came in the 58th minute.
The competition continues tomorrow with another triple-header at the same venue.
In the opening game from 16:00 hrs, University Guyana takes on Charlestown United and that will be followed by the encounter between Riddim Squad and Sunburst Camptown from 18:00 hrs and the final match of the evening that features Fruta Conquerors and Beacons starting at 20:00 hrs.
