The Mineral Promotion in collaboration with the National Association of Women’s Football and Solid Gold will be hosting a female football tournament at Bartica Community Centre Ground from Thursday August 25 to Saturday September 3.
The tournament will see ten matches being contested among teams taken from Groups A (Eagles United, Georgetown; Star Girls, Linden; Rupununi Strikers, Lethem; Berbice and West Coast) and Group B (Solid Gold, Bartica; Essequibo Coast; Butterfly, Linden and East Coast) vying to advance to the finals which is slated for September 3.
The first match starts from 18:00hrs with Eagles United playing Rupununi Strikers, while the second match commences at 20:00hrs with East Coast facing Butterfly.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of this tournament will receive $20,000 and a trophy. The best goalkeeper $10,000 and a trophy and the highest goal scorer walks away with $10,000 and a trophy.
