Nine karatekas, under the auspices of the International Karate Daigaku and the Guyana Karate College (GKC), and two chaperones, left Guyana yesterday morning for St George’s, Grenada to participate in the Biennial Caribbean Karate Championships slated to be held in that country from August 12 -16 next.
The GKC team comprises captain, Sensei Claire Martelly-Cheeks, Sensei Dr. Guy Low, Eric Hing, Romel Rameshwar, Yannick Rameshwar, Desmond Fernandes, Aliyah Wong, Tishana Wong and Brandon Wong. Additionally a team from the YMCA Dojo is also attending the championships.
